AFAIK, as long as you can prove the actual value of a car, they can't really argue? Try to get a few valuations together from some Mini specialists?

We were told something similar so this year our 95 Sprite will be on an agreed Value Classic Policy

Maybe mine is ok as it's 20 years old and is on a classic policy.
My 1982 mini already has an agreed value, again with Adrian flux.

It's quite possibly that the company who your insurance is with (flux are only a broker,) doesn't offer agreed valuations. Just ring them up and ask for a quote from a company that does offer agreed valuations - should fix the problem

Good Luck!

Is the Cooper her daily runner? Some insurance companies have problems with classic cars being used daily?

Huey & Rocky are both with Trinity Lane. Huey gets agreed value and Rocky doesn't.It's quite possibly that the company who your insurance is with (flux are only a broker,) doesn't offer agreed valuations.
Could be that, yes. Mrs T is on the phone now!Is the Cooper her daily runner?

It's no good pretending otherwise because we might have to lie about any accident details, and that would put us with the insurance cheats we are always moaning about for upping our premiums. So Rocky has only an estimated value, of £4k.
One thing the Flux person said was that agreed value is "only for show cars being taken out at weekends." Er, well, I took Huey for a long weekend at the Nurburgring, and on a long weekend to IMM in Denmark, both with Flux's permission ... shome mishtake shurely? What if I have an accident on a Tuesday? (Er, oops, I did ... and they paid up.)
Another thing you may notice on your policy is that if the car is garaged, it has to be locked in that garage between 10pm and 6am. So of you're visiting friends and park on the street, and your car is nicked/vandalised at 10.30pm, watch out!

Yep, i also got caught out on that one aswell when i renewed my policy, to make sure i had to change from garaged to kept on a drive/street, even thought it is still garaged through the night

I have just insured my 1990 Mayfair and got offered ageed value, all the forms were sent through, but just aiting to spray the wing the "right" colour before the photo's are sent off.

You should do it sooner rather than later, and keep an eye on the deadline, my insurance got cancelled because I did not send the documents off in time.

It varies from company to company, but ususally that will be accompanied by something like 'within 1/4 mile' so if you are away from home it wil still be covered, but if you just park it on the road instead of in the garage, then it wont.
