Hi Guys,

Just replacing all my rad/heater hoses and was looking on ebay for stainless jubilee clips. Then noticed there are actual hose clips which are quit different...

Anybody got any views on which is better for this application?

I think im guna go with the hose clamps as they seem to be closer to the OEM type. Has anyone had any experience of them?

Just use stainless Jub clips - no need for the more expensive clamps.

Never had a problem with mine to be honest. Have always carried a hose repair kit and spare clips just in case mind you (not had to use them either)

Have you got a link to the hose clamps. I like the look of them and will be perfect for a project i'm working on.

Oh and i've always use jubilee clips in the passed with no issues. I found they were cheaper direct from a website than ebay.

Thanks guys. I know what you mean Darkscamp they do look cool. Thats an image i nicked of google images but the ones im looking at are similar. Their version of the jubilee clamp is similar and looks smart too.

Click

If that doesnt work they are on ebay as 'hosesandcouplingsonline'

Hope that helps

Problem with the fancy Hose type clamp is the difference between max and min diameters is small making them more difficult to fit and remove because of the small hump usually found on the male stub which the hose fits over. They do look good though.

They also provide a better clamp anyway because they stay circular, where as jubilee's tend to bend as they get tighter and tighter, however as said, they are more expensive, better for higher pressure applications like turbo's. Plus sometimes you struggle to fit them in the space needed (thinking back to a Discovery, lower intercooler hose clamp was a trouble with either hose clamp or jubilee clips!)
