I have a mini sprite 1275cc 93. That has the standard black arches etc and lots of black rubber for usual window seals.
Im after somthing like back to black to keep these bits shiny and not dry out so much. The rubber looks in pretty good nick on mine
but the wheel arches look a bit grey!
Im sure i read some where before a silicone type spray can be used on rubber like door seals and windscreen rubber etc to keep it supple?

Or any other recommendations for sprucing these areas up?

I used engine oil (used not new!) which came out of my mini to restore the black bumpers and mirrors on my peugeot 309. They looked like new!

I think its quite a cheap and good solution.

Also I think on retrorides they use peanut butter to restore black bumpers!

Im after the same kind of solution as you...dont really want to take the arches off to respray them black.

Iv been using a bumper srapy from halfords which is okay but doesnt last so i need something to really bring the black back...

Autoglym bumper care is a good cheap product lasts a good couple of months aswell. if your looking for a long term product try and get hold of some trim ultra by autosmart. only down side to using it is it needs to be left for 4 hours before coming into contact with water etc.

Don't use engine oil, or any other kind of oil, it degrades rubber. I use autoglym bumper care, works well!

My bumpers are only staying black now because I keeep on putting the auto glym stuff on them. I find that spraying that stuff on works, but I supose antying works. Don't use engine oil, if you get it all over the body work it won't do it any good. :)
Just products for bumpers will work, but some seem a bit overpirced in Halfords. Let us know how u get on mate

I second the hot air gun, it even brings those nasty wheel arch plastics on corsas that go nearly white back to dark black.

Plus the fact I hate anything silicone/ slime based.
