After finding a decent garage in South East London - I then moved North of the river and have to do it all over again! shucks!

Does, anyone know of a specialist or willing garage around Hackney / Islington area?
E8 is my current location.

My exhaust dropped off last night so the closer the better... as its a noisy one to drive around too far.

I also have the MOT and few other bits required fairly soon so can travel a bit further for a better garage after the exhaust is worked on but first and foremost its as local to E8 as possible.

cheers all

Geoff

bump for Gpop!

Anyone know of a mini garage around the Hackney area? Or is there a nice handy mini person who wouldn't mind travelling to the Hackney area to help Gpop fix his mini?

There was also a shop / breakers called Just Minis around the corner from Forest Gate station in Brooking Road. I got my Cooper S disks, hubs and shafts from there for £125, which was alot of dosh in 1988. :(

Cheers Hannioli for the bump :(

And cheers guys, I'll have a ride out that way a bit later and hope they are still there. Doesn't have to be a mini garage - just someone willing to tinker with it (probably will need a near side sill for the MOT this time).

There's tons of minis round this way but 3 owners I've asked have them fixed miles and miles awy - You'd think with the garages around East that they'd be plenty of little workshops willing.

poor things round here do look a bit rusty mind you!

rode up to Whitta road yesterday, nursing a sore gut, but with determination and desire.. all I found was a cemetery. Ironic, but not useful! Seems that guy might have gone.

Just Minis:

Don't like that sign, but I found it.. it also looked shut but apparently still trading - there were no contact details what so ever on his sign.. (doh!) - but have a few local business dudes numbers, who im waiting to hear back from in regards to Martins (justminis) number when they find him!

phew!!

right.. finally back with my report.

Wood Street Welding seemed to be top guys.

Fixed my nearside and inside sill and a few other bits an bobs - seemed to do a really nice job on the welding. I had a good chat with the welder which is always good or at least gives you some confidence.
Price seemed good to (I'll drop the details and price paid later)

So, this search found these guys if that helps.

Strangely Wood St station doesn't seem to show on google maps but its just past Walthamstow Central - which was handy for trains back east.

Now I'll be posting a new topic as I try and solve the next issue! :) (seriously!)

That place is about 2 min drive from out flat :errr:

I used these guys about 12 years ago for my first ever mini. They did the work I asked them to, and some work I specifically told them not to do (I wanted to do it myself so told them very clearly not to do it.) They did it, then charged me the earth for the work I told them not to do. And they didnt even do it very well. So I wouldnt have used them again other than for buying parts (which they havent sold since they were the mini and metro centre back in the 90s and a little into the 00s.) They new business seems to have also seased trading.

Wood street rail is on google maps
