Hi
I have finished toe body resotroration of my ealry Mk1 mini, and am ready to fit the subframes.

I have not yet fitted any brake pipes or battery cable to the car. Is it recommended these go on first? if so, whats the best way to bend the brake pipes? Any advice on fitting this stuff would be great.

Thanks
John

The battery cable can be left until the subframe is on. When I did mine I got some little aluminium strips and bent them round the cable and bolted them to the subframe.
For the rear brakes I bought my brake pipes up on the heel board then over the top over the subframe, then down into a T piece mounted on the subframe. The pipes then go off to both sides from the T piece. As for the front im not sure as I havn't renewed them yet!
Best way to bend brake pipes is with your thumbs and be careful not to kink them!

Can all brake pipes be installed after the subby's are fixed in place?

You'll probably want to put the steering rack on before the front subframe :P

You wont be able to get the fuel and brake pipes on once the rear subby is on, because they go up and over the back crossmember. I would install your brake and fuel line first. As said, the batt cable goes underneath so that can be left off for now.
