I have my mini project underway and just looking into engine side of things. I want to supercharge my 1275 a series. It's an old AD016 block i think looking at engine number lists. OK scrub previous I checked numbers on here and is a metro 1275 9.4:1 CR A+ with dished pistons (nice list by the way
)Now the thing is I do have the funds available to buy kits for engine and kits for superhcarger etc. I say have it I have means to earn it. But I have given up previous hobbies due to doing just this and taking all the fun away.
So the plan is to make all that I can myself.
Are there any good sites somebody can recommend following somebodies attemt to mod their own supercharger and inlets etc?
I am planning suck through as removes a lot of hassle with blow of valves etc. I want to keep the car so I can work on it without a PC etc as hate all that modern engine management etc. (it works really well but this is for fun) SO i think most I would is go to megajolt type iginition system.
I will rebuild engine with supercharging in mind so will go for dished pistons etc rather than spacing plate so will be only one gasket to replace when I wreck it
I will probably go for 4 pin diff as can be quite brutal with my driving and hardened crank to deal with extra forces. Not sure if a huge head is necessary but will go for double valve springs and roller rockers perhaps.
I will possibly modify the head myself as have access to milling machine, lathe etc.
So I guess my question is are there any good resources or sites for do it your selfers please? I notice a few on here have gone the same route so can be done and will be satisfying. I should add this will be a weekend fun car not a daily runner.
Any help or ideas much appreciated.
