I put mine (a quick shift) in a vice and took a copper/hide hammer to it whilst applying force in the general bend direction.

I then cut it down and fitted an aftermarket pistion top gear stick.

Job done

Cheers garrett3, I will give that a go.

The flocking looks great, im in two minds as where to spray it the colour of the car (a rage illution flip paint) or flock it, but as you say, flocking it can hide lots of things that sprying it cant.

Cheers for the help

Just a thought regarding the thread about bending the gearstick, what about a metro linkage, which is longer ? You could then relieve the back edge of the 'hole' and fabricate something up. You may even be able to combine your quick *melon* with it, I don't know

\hope it helps

Cheers for all the help guys, with a bit of heat and a bit of help from a 4ft pole its all done. Taken a couple of pictures in first and second gear, the clearance seems good and easier to reach since my seats are far back
