i have installed an acewell digidash into my minus, and now i need to set it up.

most of it is personal preference like rev warning, shift lights etc, but you can also set the water temperature alert .

what would be a good setting for the water temp warning with an 88*c thermostat?

The alarm level is really up to you since there isn't normally such a light in the Mini. Also, normal for one car isn't necessarily the same as normal for another car.

"N" on most Smiths temperature gauges corresponds to about 85oC. Where the white "bar" starts on the "H" section of the gauge is 100oC. It is NOT unacceptable for the car to run above "N" and below "H". Therefore, I would set your warning light to something between these values but leaning towards the "H" end of the scale. Were it me, I'd set it for 95oC. But again, this is strictly a personal choice.

ok mate thanks for the advice. , im going to fit an additional smiths temp gauge just as an extra. i do find it easier to read an analog gauge compared to a digital one. but since the acewell probably wont be set to show the temp as im driving the smiths will be good for a quick glance.

Ok then.

You may want to also see the thread linked below since you will be running two sending units. Perhaps you can share your experience with the author of the other thread.
