Hi all

I have just picked up a set of MG ZR seats form a 2004 car.

I have just trial fitted them into the car, and they fit... well not really. I need to find some way of attaching them to the car.

Looks like the runners are built into the frame of the seat. I can make up custom brackets but wondered if someone had done this before me

mines are practically mg zr seats.

we modified the brackets on the front seats to make them work on there on runners, and took the covers of the rear ones then cut the foam to the correct shape which allowed to have a snug fit then recovered them again

hope this helped. :teehee:

yes they fit, my best friend has mg zr seats, i believe he used the original runners and made custom brackets like you said.
i will say though they are very snug fit, accesibility too the handbrake is very limited and you do sit quite high just incase your tall haha hope this helps!

I put the MGZR seats in my mini, they're not too bad to fit. First, you have to drill out all the old brackets on the bottom of the seat so you are left with smooth runners. The I got 2 pieces of aluminium stock, one is 3 inch by 3 inch angle and 3 inch by 1.5 inch box. The 3x3 angle bolts to the front of the runners in the old bracket holes and it overlaps the front of the box section in the car where the original seat mounted. In the back of the seat I used the 3x1.5 box as a support for the seat to sit on. It's bolted to the bottom of the runners as well but it just sits on the carpet, you could bolt that to the floor if you wanted.

All i did was weld a couple of pieces of thick flat bar together to form a square. I then made the back support of the same stuff and made some mounts for the front to bolt to using the original Mini seat mounts. I drilled a couple of holes and bolted the seat runners to the frame. :dontgetit:
