hi all, im having a bit of a problem with my minis front drum brakes. first of all the pedal travels almost all the way to the floor before i get anykind of braking power and when it does start braking it pulls to the right quite violently. i think ive adjusted all the shoes properly, ive put new fluid in and bled it through change some brake lines, all the brake cyclinders seem ok but still having problems? any ideas. many thanks Jacques

The pulling to the right sounds like poor brake performance on the left hand side of the car.
Is this a new thing --> the whole poor braking I mean?

My renault does this, the fault has been diagnosed as the master cylinder - since you have changed everything else I would suggest that is what is wrong here too.

ty for reply, the brakes have always been poor and pulled to one side so i decided to have a look and adjusted the brakes shoes so that there was just a bit of friction between them and the drum but it did not make a difference, so i changed some brake lines and used new fluid but nothing.

Did you bleed them in the order and manner as per Haynes?

it's not just a little friction only. you have to set the wheel so that when you spin it (in the air) it does less than one full turn
