hi new mini owner. p plate 1.3 spi fresh jap import with air con pre chassis number BD134454
i need new fan belts from alternator to air pump. and the air con pump around the pulleys. the only writing is in Jap. no mini specialist i have contacted stocks them or can tell me waht size they are ????
the rover part numbers are PQS100920 PQS100990 (belts 4 and 5 on link)
They are the 'fan belt' type and not the later flat belt groove belts. (gmb510005)
Please can anybody tell me what size they are ?? i can match up with a local parts factor then.

Hi,

My 94 Japanese Cooper has some readable markings on the belts. The water pump belt reads BANDO RAF 2360 9.5X915La. The A/C one reads BANDO RAF K235.

Just take it with you and get one that matches for length and cross section.

10 mm wide and 920 mm for the first one and 990mm for the second one

Sorry just checked the link. I think the part numbers listed are wrong. I will check mine in the morning but I think that the one from the air con compressor to the alt is a lot shorter
(590 from memory but I will check)

Ive just checked and the one that is on the car currently is 620 x 10 (I think the prev one was 590 but 620 was the smallest i could get hold of and its been on for about 2 years without any probs.

Theres a company called UKR Transmissions in Nottingham. Our local mini garage gets there belts for Jap spec minis from there, and in my old job we got all our landscaping machinery belts from there aswell.

As far as i can remember the belts were cheaper than any motorfactors, including standard mini ones. They also deliver quite cheaply.

Where did you get from in the end?

I've got a 1997 P Reg Jap mini with AC. Fan belt is slipping so I think needs replacing.

Sorry to be dull but which is which out of the two belts. One goes around the alternator (is this the fan belt). The other around the fan it seems.

i got them from local part factor in norwich.

small belt is 10mm x 600 mm

large belt is 10mm x 913 mm

standard fan belt v shape. not the flat belts.

Hi, I am trying t fit an ex japan aircon to my mini clubman here in Australia. I was able to get hold of an 11A610 Gates belt for the small one but it is way too loose - raising the alternator high enough ends up pushing onto the radiator hose. I will first try putting on a larger pulley to see if it will tension, otherwise I will have to try and get a smaller belt ot make up an idler bracket. Does anyone have the make and part number of the 10mm X 600mm belt that did fit, better sill a 590 belt?
