ok wondering if anybody has had this problem and what pressures are envolved behind this join so will my bodge idea work!!!
i am working in borrowed premises and i am out of welcome so need to solve this if even temporary! the problem is the where the right side of the bellhousing meets the engine gearbox join.(mg metro block, mpi box)the box and engine do not match so perfectly ,there was a slight lip sowing with the box.i hoped that a good thick gasket and a bit of strategicly placed silicone would allow for the discrepency however just turning the engine over doing timing has caused it to dribble a little bit so i think its gonna pour when i start it!!! my thoughts to avoid total strip down (my head may physically explode if i have to pull the motor out again!!!) was to clean the area with electrical cleaner dremel up the join and squeeze some liquid metal in the tiny gap.i know this sounds awful but i am stuck!! i have not cut any corners elsewhere which is why i am out of time and money!! any good advice welcomed!! ta enigma
