Hey peeps, ive been looking for aaages trying to find out how long the austin mini was in production for. This is probably going to sound like a dumb question but Rover take over or something? I have to do a 300 word analysis thingy on the Austin mini and i can't chat bubbles.

So if anyone could help or if you have any links, id much appreciate it

Production started in 1959 and carried on until 2000 During that time, it was marketed as the Austin Seven, Morris Mini-Minor, British Leyland Mini, Austin Mini, Austin-Rover Mini and the Rover Mini (as far as I know).

I know people say Wikipedia can be unreliable (personally I find it pretty damn good), but it's certainly a good start. Another site you could check out is Austin Rover Online - they seem to have a lot of details about the history of Austin/Rover cars, along with Austin Memories. Good luck

Thanks alot Womble. i did try wiki but i wasnt sure if austin ran all the way through till 2000 or weather it was just a name given to the actual mini. And thanks for the links.

its all a bit messed up beween morris, leyland, rover and austin, so if its just austin u need theres gonna be a bit of research required, but if its just the mini then it was 59 to 00
