I suspect there are a few Bill fans on here so I figured I'd post about it!
Bill was involved in a 'Serious Racing Incident' yesterday at brands hatch.
Basically he got collected by a crashing Civic at about 100mph. Totally destroying his Mini and putting him in hospital.
He's OK, but got 3 broken ribs, lots of lacerations from the harness and a few cuts and bruises, but his excellent roll cage did its job- and he's already been ringing KAD from his hospital bed getting the bits sorted to put together another car so he can race in the next round!
I am sure there will be some you-tube footage of it soon, but in the mean time if you could keep him in your thoughts/prayers/meditations/whatever your religious orientation allows, I'm sure he'd appreciate it!

Wow, glad he's ok. Could of been much worse!

Hi all,
Bill is now out of hospital and ok but very sore.The Mini has been written off in the accident but we are already planning the new one as he wants to get back out racing as soon as possible.The accident was started by a VW Golf, the driver has been endorsed and excluded from the results.Here is some footage from my car which shows some of the impact.

Looks quite nasty, glad to hear he is going to be OK.

Spoke to Bill this AM from Kamloops BC Canada and he is still sore as ribs take a long time to heal, he will be fine and be racing again soon . I hear his buddies are already building a new car( Lee I would assume). Time I went back to Jolly Old for a visit as its been at least 10 years since I visited him in Kent. Bob Beauchemin

I got Bills new Mini built and he raced it at Lydden over the weekend.
It got finished the night before the race so had no testing and it did not even get driven before the qualifying session.
He competed in 2 races and ended up with 2 class wins a 3rd and a 2nd overall and we think he broke the class lap record.Not bad for a car straight out of the box.
