Hi all, I've recently been buying my self more tools for at work but as of yet I haven't got anything more than a cantilever tool box to keep them in and I'd quite like to buy myself a proper roll cabinet.
I haven't got massive budget (£2/300 max) so can't afford a massive box but have been looking into getting one of these. Has anyone got one of these or something similar and what do you think of it? I know the quality isn't going to be as good as a more expensive box I'd rather spend the extra cash on tools and upgrade the box latter.

Hi Tupers,
I got my self a very nice Beta top box and roller cab for £300.
Very good quality ie Italian version of snap-on.
From the motor factors next to tool station in Exeter.
Or you could try Kennys cash and carry on Marsh Barton.
Sorry its a local thing!!

Cheers

John

I have this one

http://www.halfords....cm_vc=IOV4PDPZ1

Superb quality. Drawers are easy & smooth even when fully loaded.

I bought it at full price a couple of years ago, at the offer now it's cheaper than some of the machine mart stuff!!!

I would be wary of buying this type of product online unless you have a good recommendation. To me it's all aboout the quality of the drawers and how they run. This type of product is very easily damaged on transit also.

Good luck

Steve

Edit: Just had a look at the other stuff they have on the same offer. You could kit yourself out nicely for your budget.

Halfords professional and the industrial range and excellent quality for the money, and you'll usually find some form of deal available in store...

The lower spec range are also good for the money, but can be a little 'cheap' in construction...

The alternative is the Machine Mart ones ( HD or HD plus I'd recommend )

If your gona get one, it has to be a roller bearing one, their so much easier to use and last so much longer if your going to be loading them. Halfords pro are the same as sealy with a different badge so are good quality, their ain't much difference between them and clarke (the machine mart ones) so just go with whatever you can get cheapest!

I agree for a good box you do need a set of roller draws.Plus life span ,weight and ease of use.I would hunt down a secound hand one myself being tight.

Have a look on ebay for tool chests made by a company called US Pro Tools.

They are very good quality, especially next to the Halfords stuff which is flimsy in comparison. I bought a massive one for my garage and it is brilliant.
