Searched this forum but can find no entry so just to say.....

I bought a Clay bar last year and it worked wonders, giving a fantastic smooth finish on the roof of my cooper.

I read on another forum (uksaabs) that for a fraction of the price that Blutac can be used instead of the clay bar...yeah right i thought....so I gave it a go and it works!! Use just as same as the clay bar with just as good results! benefit of being mega cheap compared to a clay bar!

Just thought I would share

Cheers

I disagree Meguiars clay bars are cheap enough as are poor boy products, blue tac is too soft i have tried it side bye side and can say the clay bar out performs everytime yes the blue tac can work but will not pick up as much as the harder clay

Needless to say you pay for what results you get

Dont mean to p**s on your fire been into detailing cars for a fair few years tried everything :)

Hey no worries minibokerz,

Im not into detailing and just gave it a go to get rid or loads of crusty specks and sort of like a dried mildew (car stood outside for the past year), still have the claybar for when I decide to give it a proper go , but was really impressed with how the blutac cut through all then mank. cheap and cheerful not perfect but I found it worked really well.

Always good to have somebody to p*** on a fire before someone gets burnt!

My uncle told me about the BluTack thing a little while ago, but he's an absolute odd ball so I just didn't take any notice.
He also poured a gallon of petrol over a tree stump and threw a match at it. The fire went up so hard it set his car alarm off.

But I s'pose i'll have to ring him now and give him some credit for giving some actual helpful advice

Well used the lube as described! with my blutak and brought white roof up a treat! tried to set fire to a tree stump but decided to drill it and pour diesel into the holes instead!

My grandad poured diesel into one of his trees and eventually it fell over and went through his car.
