Sometime this summer, my family and I are hopefully driving down to the south of France in my dad's 1997 Toyota Landcruiser 3.0 diesel. As my dad already does an awful lot of driving as part of his job, i suggested taking out insurance for a few days on this trip, so that he can have a chance at relaxing and i can drive.

Would it be possible for a 19 year old guy to get insurance on such a car, only for a few days, and where should i be looking?

might be a bit harder too considering you are going abroad. Ask his insurers what kind of deal they can give you as an extra driver on his policy, it might turn out cheaper just to get a years worth because I tried this last year and found that they can be very stingy. The 1 week prices are often ridiculously priced as well!
