hallow hallow,

I'm trying to find a good wheel cleaner, I currently use the Auto Glym stuff with the orange square on... but I don't think it's up to much. Does anyone use anything that they think is really gooooood ?

i only ever use water but having said that there cleaned every 3 days to stop staining

Custom wheel cleaner from AutoGlym is reeeeally good. I've just found that it depends on the wheel really.

Get some WonderWheels 'U'(the U refers to the non acidic one) and put it in a spray bottle (like a mr muscle bottle or something), works brilliantly

Cant beat normal car shampoo then use a wheel sealent/wax afterwards to keep dirt away.

I have this wonder wheels stuff, and it's great! I had the Auto Glym stuff that you spray on and I find it wasn't that good. But I do clean my wheels 3 or 4 times a week to prevent staining!

Regular wonder wheels is pretty harsh stuff, very acidic which is why it works well at cleaning the wheels, but does nothing for the finish on them. I wan't massivley impressed by the Autoglym stuff either, and I usually like AG products, their tyre dressing is very good.

I use Bilberry Safe Wheel Cleaner now though.

Most of the time, you don't even need to scrub the wheels, well, unless they tyre black has attracted the brake dust then a quick wipe over with a soft wheel brush does the trick. It smells really nice too.

I've just bought some of the bilberry stuff, just because it's diluteable and I'm trying to clean some seriously neglected wheels! Ha

You wont be disappointed with Bilberry. I use it with a foaming spray head and it never lets me down. It can be diluted down loads as said and still works perfectly.

If they're really bad, spray it on neat, leave for a minute then agitate, then jet wash off.

Surprised at autoglym Clean wheels not working.

I use Autobrite Verry cherry, 5 litres is £20.00 and can be diluted i dilute 10:1 for the weekly wash or 3:1 if the wheels are really bad, it is fantastic stuff and very similar to Bilberry.

There is an industrial traffic film remover called Dymablast, its what your local hand car washers use in their powerwashers, its normally used in 1:250 concentration with water but if you use it 50:50 in a hand spray bottle, leave it on for 5 mins then just wipe off and give a good rinse. It removed years of brake dust from my old alloys, they came up like new, barring the kerb marks where the missus had decided to go off-roading

Traffic film remover is usually very harsh, not the sort of stuff I'd want to be using that often. If you are going to use it, I'd say maybe use some wheel sealing wax afterwards
