Im thinking of fitting speaker pods, as i have just fitted a sub into my boot with help from my mate, however i want hard hitting bass which means i need to have my head unit turned up loud, my standard speakers dont like this and distort, so i was thinking about getting rid of them and fitting speakers in the front where they wont be affected by the loud bass. I have looked on the custom consoles website and have decided to get speaker pods from there, before i decide on a size i need to choose my speakers (this is where u guys/gals come in), im looking at spending about £60 on speakers and want them to be able to handle the volume being turned up as well as having good sound quality. Which speakers would you reccommend? Links appreciated.

easy way to solve it - adjust teh gain on your amp until the sub distorts at the same time as the front speakers - then just dont turn it up anymore than this!
simple really

also - get 6.5" components - you can pick up a REALLY nice pair for only around £90
and you're better off spending about £20 in materials and making your own pods, rather than spending about £30 on some crappy consoles ones!

If you use an amp to power the fronts i would get seperate components for the front. with crossovers.
better sound and your amp will make them sound better.
something lse like this

Yeah getting the system to sound 'loud' isn't just about speakers, you need to have a crossover to filter out the lower frequencies from the from speakers.
If you want hard hitting bass then set the sub to around 125-150 Hz and filter out the frequencies below this for the fronts, that way you can run very high volumes witthout much distortion.
as for speakers try these JBL's, they are very good for the cash (as is most JBL stuff) and will out perfrom pretty much anything for the same amount of cash.

infinity are part of the same stable as JBL, also another good make, Infinity are more expensive although i've often doubted wether the internals are any different.
