Rotten Egg Smell?!

Model: Mini City E
Year: 1989
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): My car absolutely stinks of rotten eggs?! inside, and when I open the window, oh and when it's sat there outside my house!

Help please anyone. I am worrying :'(

Unfortunately, I'm not finding it funny, because I'm serious about my car considering I just lost my job. I am not finding it easy to laugh about it atm, sorry.

does the exhaust have a cat ?

my cooper used to smell like that until i removed it from the system

has somebody stuck eggs in your engine bay or something :S

im not sure how it could smell bad when the engine isn't running.

check the water in the radiator as that can smell pretty foul sometimes :shifty:

Usually this is a cat problem. Not sure why it would smell when not running.

It does sound like a boiling battery. Check it's topped up (if you can) & check the condition of the earth strap.

Would an '89 have a cat though? Weren't they introduced in late 1991? I think my car was one of the first to get a cat.
