It would be advisable to use the extended ones with the extra -ve camber.

Please be careful when answering peoples technical questions that you do not misguide them into taking inappropriate action.

Not only is this annoying, but it can also be costly and could even be dangerous if the wrong information is given.

This is why we ask that only first-hand and factual information is posted in reply to peoples queries.

If you are not 100% certain of your reply, be sure to point out your uncertainty.

i wish people would read this, i have now just wasted my time and money buying std rod ends.

x2. Consistently found "extended" mini ones completely useless.

You certainly MUST use longer TREs with negative arms. We used to just weld a nut onto the Mini one- but Spitfire ones are ideal.

Standard type track rod ends may be trouble free for the entire life of the car... Until the day you hit a decent size bump and the few threads holding your steering together pull straight out = new pair of underpants (even if they are the ones they put you in for your funeral).

Wheather you fit standard ends or 'extended' ends you need to make sure there is sufficient thread engagement (usually this means having engagement at least equal to the diametre or the thread). The biggest problem is not having the steering dead centre when adjusting tracking as this will lead to one track rod end having less thread engagement. And remember, just because the steering wheel is in the 'centre' position doesn't always mean the steering rack is centred.
