Currently restoring my standard wheels but I was wanting to know what colour they were standard ? I know mk2 mini coopers had silver but was silver also an option on the mk1 aswell as oew ?

Ive seen some original cooper s' with black 4.5j10 steels before? dunno whether that was a period mod or what but that looked cool. Oew was a standard colour on mk1 and silver was standard on mk2. but reverse rims were supplied in silver

The Cooper wheels were originally OEW, but change to silver in late 66 or 67. What you see in photos as black on works cars is simply the dark brown primer that the wheels bought from the parts system came in

What does OEW look like? Is it a bright white or an off-white?  Anyone have images?  Is the image above accurate?  It appears slightly gray on my screen.

Sort of pale creamy white on the wheels
