i drive a spi 1993 mini rio recently i had a leak on my radiator rechecked all the pipework and unfortunatly it was a leak from some corrosion i think so for now i have used radweld as this is my daily drive and i will be taking it off the road soon to do some major engine servicing so will replace the radiator then.
However since then the cooling system works but to a degree as in after driving for about 15 minutes it starts to tinkering over the optimum middle then persistant motorway driving takes it close to the hot but never actually overheating, when i stopped the car at this temp at popped the bonnet with the engine running in idle the secondary eletric fan was not on is this right or has it gone caput if so any advice on fixing.
the other possibility is the thermostat could this be a culprit should i check it anyway
cheers

The problem could be the Radweld as it can 'gum up' the cooling system somewhat.
First you need to flush out all the Radweld, sort out the leak by replacing the defective component(s), then see how it goes. If it still overheats you can investigate further.
