yup 1990 coopers were RSP's and therefore used carbs. Depends what condition its in really, they can range from a few hundred like MK1leg's but with a body issues or I've seen them as high as £4000 in complete mint condition. I suppose RSP's are getting rarer now as well, they were the first Cooper model Rover reintroduced for the 90's market.

im not insulting your inteligance but is it deffo a cooper for starters? not what he thinks is a cooper, as 1990 could also be a later registered racing flame, they were red with white roofs so unless the owner is clued up on minis it might not be a cooper, check the log book if you can to make sure

does it have a sun roof ?

if it does it's most likely a RSP if not a mainstream cooper, both had carbed engines

My mate went to buy one £1000, cooper seats, carpets, dash steering wheel, wheels, badges, gear knob, gauges, injection engine, the whole lot, but the log book said

998 Mayfair

We walked!

Yes do your homework a 1990 would probably be a RSP?

i bought a 1990 what the buyer told me was a cooper as it was red with white roof, but on further inspection before i bought it i looked at the logbook and it said racing flame checkmate. so be careful mate.check everything out including all the paperwork that comes with it before handing the cash.

No, Both RSPs and Mainstreams were built in 1990. I actually think that more mainstreams were built(im sure somebody here has the numbers) so its more likely to be a mainstream.

Last year I paid 1400 for a mainstream with 6 months tax, and 12 months MOT,the high price was due to it having the interior and webasto roof of a British open.

Yes I know that but generally very late 1990 cars are mainstrems. Hence the probability quoted
