Bored of all the same looking small modern cars.
Would a VW Beetle stand up well as a daily driver? (35-40miles a day) Reliability etc? Tempted to have it sitting alongside the mini on my drive!!!
But i need to research alot more, i know nothing about them. Do they suffer the same rust problems? whats their MPG like? and are they reliable.
Bear in mind i'd be spending £4-5k on one.
Cheers guys

they didn't build beetles as weekend show cars, they were build to get people from A to B how ever far it was and at any time
as the advert used to say the man the drives the snow plough drives a beetle to work
the only difference between a modern car and a classic is the maintenance needed, the service intervals on a classic are more often and there is more to do
but you can service a classic for about a 1/3 of the cost of a modern car, for example a oil change on a beetle you need about a litre of cheap oil and a 99p gasket set there is no oil filter just a strainer to wash out

With your budget you should get a mint one.Always check every where for quality of any welding and rot.The 1600cc ones are best in my view. They are slow. They make a very good daily car.I have seen some with 250g miles plus on the same engine. They sound nice to.They were called the peoples car.

That is a nice classic Bungle and cheap.A VW Camper is also an option. You would have some fun in one and they hold there value. They do like fuel.

only problem with a camper is they do drink fuel around town
but most of the VW shows are very camper based
