I hesitate in asking this question as I feel Ive had a great service in the past from my local mini repair shop. HOwever I took my mini in for repair over a month and a half ago with a list of things i wanted doing.

Repair exhaust.
fit central locking*
Fit spots*
fit arches and new alloys.
cut out existing rusty boot and replace it.

* = Ive had to drop the central locking and spots from the list as the budget is being streched.

The last job in the list is the problem. Everytime i chase up the repair I'm told that this is a really difficult area of the car to restore as the existing welding needs to be picked out and when fitting the new skin it has to be spot on so not to effect fuel tank fitting etc. They also say they found bad corosion around the seatbelt so this needs to be repaired.

When I ask them how long this will take and I dont get a staight answer. Should i be more pushy or does this sort of work take weeks to complete? I'm starting to feel that my job keeps being put on the back burner, which is a real shame as Ive had a really good relation with these guys before now.

I'd go down there and see it to check up on how they are doing, and just to double check that there is corrosion in the places they say.
