Hello

Has anyone got some images of there mini with the MINILIFE (C-21A1968) 4.5x10 thick outer rim type wheels on, as from Minispares?? As will be converting my car from 12s to 10s in the future, and thinking of putting the above wheels on when i do it.

Cheers, Graeme.

Hiya Jon

Great picture you have attached, looks fab!! really appreciate the image.

Yup, there the wheels i'm looking at getting when i get round to converting my mini from 12s to 10s, those wheels will tie in nicely with my retro rally look.
One question though, it looks like you have the same arches as my mini, do your wheels fill the arches? do you have spacered rear drums, discs up front, if so, is there a slight gap? as maybe i would have to put some spacers on when i convert my mini, as being 4.5 size, going from my 12"x5s, so fills the arches flush, if you know what i mean?
Any chance of a side on close up of one of the wheels, that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Jon, all the best, Graeme.

Great cars you both have. I have the original magnesium minilite 10x4.5 wheels (pre 1967 type) and i had to use spacers just to clear the rear shock as i am running non spacered drums. I used 1, 1/4" spacers as thats all they had at my local motor factors and this provided sufficent clearance. Would definately fit flush or even a little extended from the arches you have.

Don't mean to hijack this topic but:
YIANO, where did you purchase your door square from as i would like a full sized one for my rally inspired 77 mini? Also where did you get the spots, i have access to purchase some with the black backs but they are from overseas sellers.

Ive got original Lucas 576 spots and fogs on the front of mine, to which i got extremely cheap from a local guy who was clearing his garage out, but you can get the Lucas spots/fogs to which are on the white mini above usually on ebay, or i did find on the internet a few companies over here in the UK that sell reproduction ones, heres a link to one:

http://www.s-v-c.co....ghts_drive.html

I had the white door squares added by a local guy that does graphics/signwriting for cars and all number off things, he done it for a tenner, so have a look flick through your local yellow pages, and you may find someone local to you, as there a big bit of vinyl. its usually better for someone professional to do it, as i had a go and completely cocked it up!!

You lucky so and so, would love to get my hands on some original magnesium minilites, but it looks like i'll be getting some minilife replica minilite 10"s in the future, as there readily available. Looks like i should be fine with 4.5x10s, as i already have spacered rears, and eventually converted discs up front.

Thanks for the help. I think i saw your car at Brooklands earlier this year if i'm not mistaken. It will look even better when you get some 10's on it. Not too sure if my minilites are useable as they are quite pitted on the inside where the tyre is but theres one way to find out i suppose as minilite have stopped crack testing maglites.
