hi guys, I hav a mk1 and I am trying to wire in the flasher, however I dont want to wreck it, does anyone know which wires go to which terminals?

It does not matter wich way you do the connections as it works either way.............

The Mk1 has a 3-prong flasher and one output is dedicated to the warning light while the other two are "in" and "out".
The picture in the link below is for an aftermarket, electronic flasher connected to the Mini's wiring.

The wiring diagrams show the following connections for a standard Lucas flasher:
light-green/brown = L terminal (to turn signal switch)
light-green/purple = P terminal (indicator lamp)
green = B terminal (from battery/fuse)

There is a link here to Vehicle Wiring Products page which gives a terminal identification cross reference to many common flasher units available in the UK.
It is interesting to note that the electronic unit shown in D K Lawsons link has the same terminal identification letters as the electro mechanical unit in the wiring products catalogue.
If you use an electronic unit from Wiring Products you would need a RFL5 and an additional earth wire on to terminal 31.
