With some nice weather on Saturday, and seeing as how I cant drive my Mini yet, I decided to clean and polish her, and test out my new camera!

Is it illegal not to have wing mirrors? Cant decide if I like the car with or without them better :)

You'd be an absolute loon not to have wing mirrors. you'll crash into someone or kill a motorcyclist - promise! Put them back on. There are plenty of nice shiny ones that will look just as nice, either some fancy chrome ones or chrome f1 bullet mirrors...

There is an MoT requirement for one mirror, can't remember which side it is, but there definately is a rquirement as my car failed on it once.

Enough moaning, car looks great by the way!!! :) (just would be safer with some mirrors)

Looks top mate that does. I am fairly sure that mirrors are going to be a legal requirement. I wouldnt like to try driving on todays roads without any.
I think some stainless Tex mirrors would look ace on your Mini.

I believe a drivers side wing mirror is required for the MOT.

Cheers Mike! A mirror upgrade may be on the books when I get some money in! As above though, I do like the standards as much as any upgrades ive seen. Just thought about motorways too - wouldnt like to pull out infront of a landrover :)

im pretty sure you need 2 rear view mirrors to be legal, so if you wanted you could leave passenger side off, but then the car would look odd, just put them all back on as people have said, and find yourselves some nice new ones if need be :)

I like the alternative twist on the bonnet/boot/side stripes and angling them in like that on the bonnet (rather than following the bonnet edge) makes the front end look much more streamline.

As for wing mirrors, my Alfa had the driver side one knocked off whilst parked in the street I lived in. Anyway it passed 2 MOT's without them, so it must be allowed. by the way I'm not lazy I was a student and Alfa GTV mirrors are £120 each - that £120 was better spent on beer.

no probs. Its shiney enough mate! like you say, gets by. I would be tempted to consider continuing the checkered theme inside though, Rear view mirror, you could even take inspiration from Old School Lews and do the dash and parcel shelf too?
