I guess you mean airflow to cool it rather than charge to be cooled?

Behind the grille would be best. Duct the air towards it so it can't escape and make sure there's no obstruction to the air leaving it. It's the pressure differential that will cause the air to go through it.

go megajolt and lose the dizzy lol i had a few intercoolers that i was trying to get behind the grill i did have one it was quite small and only just fitted but seemed hardly worth it. one other i had was from a renault 21 and fitted along the front of the bonnet you could make a scoop to bring air from the grill. I had made new ends to replace the plastic ends and change the angle. i will see if i can find any pictures

i was really thinking about going megajolt but to be honest i dont even know if my engine is going to run,

i have had the engine running and its will need to be sorted out but to be honest i do not think that my mini specialist has even heard about megajolt let alone use it, i just measure along the slam panel and i would get a nice size intercooler in there if there was not any wires of dizzy in the way is it much work to fit megajolt? tryed doing a search on here and its come up with alot of not relative items

also are there any gains by fitting megajolt?

its taken me a day so far to fit megajolt and will probably take me one more, its pretty easy if your any good a wiring or know some one who is i bought a hole kit form trigger-wheels which made it a lot easier and now without the dizzy there i can fit a oil cooler.

The Autosportlabs site is the best for info on megajolt. It would be as useful as a cooler on a car with forced induction. Do think about where the air goes once it's through the cooler, if it runs smack in to the block it's likely to stall and reduce the flow.
