Hi all,
I've got myself a really good condition 1275 engine to go in wilf. It doesnt have a Dizzy, oil pump, fuel pump, or clutch assembly. Can my 998 parts do the job?
Also, will my inlet manifold fit? thanks- its my first engine swap so any advice will be appreciated!

Dizzys are different, oil pumps are different, is your clutch setup the same as the 1275 (verto? pre-verto?), the 1275 uses a larger clutch plate but the pressure plate and flywheels are the same.

Inlet manifold will fit if its an aftermarket one, may need 2 extra studs to fit the hif carb (best for a 1275 really) You will need a new top hose and top rad bracket aswell.

may aswell just get those parts for good measure anyway, if the clutch is done now you no it wont need doing for a long time, might be worth changing the water pump aswell?

The dizzy may well be the same - only slight difference in the advance curve - and actually - the 998 curve may be better! Oil pump is certainly different - you need a long-shaft for the 1275, short shaft on 998. Just use complete flywheel from the 998 - on the 1275.

Thanks for the replies. So the shopping list is
Oil pump
fuel pump
top rad hose/bracket
Clutch plate

The rest can transfer from the 998?
