Model: Mini 1275
Year: 1975
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
The car was idling while I was trying to adjust the carbs. For the first time I was quite happy with it because it ran pretty smooth. My smile disappeared a few seconds later when it suddenly died... ;)
The car won't start because I had no spark at the plugs. BUT i have a good spark if I but a spark plug directly on the lead coming from the ignition coil!

The leads, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor are new.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem? No, standard ignition with pointers
