This looks like it runs on WinCE 6.0 which according to the MegaJolt website is not listed as a supported operating system (XP/2000 is), so I imagine you will struggle to run the MegaJolt on it.

Luke.

There is software for pocketpc http://www.autosport...light=ipaq#6931

The pc software isn't anything special and ought to run on any pc that has a com port - old laptops with serial ports are ideal, but you can use a usb- rs232 cable.

oh so thats means i got to buy a more expensive laptop oh!

And some usb-rs232 cables will not work...depends on the chipset that it uses.

That would have been great if the operating system worked with it. I'm looking for a small cheap laptop as well, I was looking at the Dell Inspiron Minis but it seems silly to pay £150-250 for something that I only really want to use for Megajolt etc Suppose I could start using it around the house as well if I was to buy it...

Don't buy expensive usb-rs232 adpater cables. The one's costing £2-3 on eBay in most cases work fine with generic drivers. I use a £2 at work to configure Cisco routers without any issues.

If you have a laptop with a pcmcia slot you can get 232 cards that plug in instead of the USB convertor, the PCMCIA cards tend to be much more stable in my experience, and still about a fiver.
