Bad vibrations from my 98MPi at between 60 and 70 mph but just had all wheels balanced - any ideas?

Wheel bearings feel okay, swivel joints okay, track rod ends fine, recently rebuilt front and back suspension with Minitastic Coil Springs (was okay for a few 100 miles and have checked nothing has worked loose), reasonably new Spax Gas Shocks all round and rebuilt Metro Turbo Vents (brand new) and 4 pots at front. Also, reconned radius arms and brackets fitted at same time as coil springs - car has run fine after all of these mods/repairs.

Any ideas?

Next time study where you think the vibration is coming from. Is it in the floor, the steering..is it the rear? Did you do 70mph before these changes? If so and the vibration wasn't there it's definitely something you've done since.... Unfortunately a process of elimination.

The symptom is vibration through the steering wheel, the root cause must be somewhere through the front of the car.
Just had a thought, I fitted a steering wheel dropper sometime ago, I wonder if the steering rack U bolts have worked loose? Job for the weekend!!
I'll apply my RCA skills :)

One more to look at..... tyres.... it's rare but check to make sure both front tyres are seating correctly on the wheel. I had a vibration once and after jacking the car up and spinning both front wheels I noticed one of my tyres ran slightly eccentric to the rim. Doh.. :)

I have the same even after tracking and balancing too: could it be deep dish alloys? (just what some people have told me)

I've ruled that out because it has been okay in the past, only recently have the symptoms arisen :)

Would be worth having wheel balance checked again - its not always perfoect, or a weight might have come unstuck...

I had my wheels balanced again yesterday and its gone. they also swapped teh wheels around a little as there were some problems with one not being "straight or true" (sorry lost in taranslation moment). I still get a bit of a shake but nothing compared to before.

The wheels now have lots of weights on them.

Car been at the body shop but now have it back and tried a different set of wheels, what a difference !!! They're nearly new with new tyres and recently balanced so knew if it was still there then it was something a bit serious ? On closer check of the nsf wheel I see there is a flat on the rim (thanks to my son I guess) so set it up on a dummy shaft and spun it against a scribing block, ummm, buckled >:D now how did the tyre fitter think he had balance that :P ????
Anyway, problem solved.
