I think you're OK to make your own and fit it a to a pre '96 mini. Anything after that needs a real towbar (for want of a better name0

The one that was in minimag bolted through the seat floor, but I can't see what being a good idea if its also bolted to the subby with rubber bushes?

hi i have had a search and as long as the trailer with load is under 405 kg which it will be so should be all ok. also my car is 1991 so i can tow.

could someone reccomend the best places to bolt it to? would be a great help. also the size and thickness of the steel.

the only reason i asked this is that i dont really want to change my exhaust everytime as i have a motor bike exhaust coming out of the middle and there is a tow bar on ebay pre made but you cant use a centre exit and to be honist i will only have the tow bar on when i need it i will just take it off.

cheers
