Well I've been doing this for the last 12 months or so bit by bit and finally all my work has paid off, it's finished :)

Yes it's only a garden wall.. but before attempting this I hadn't laid one brick, the only help I've had is from Dan (pictured) demolishing part of the old wall, which we did by kicking it down :) so I can actually call it my work. The street is on a slope too and the old wall was built sloping down with the street so I had that to contend with...

Here's what the wall looked like in 2008/09 courtesy of a Google Streetview picture and another one which was taken at that time:

Below is after it was ripped down and a start made on the new one...

And this is how it is today - I've finally finished it! The two electric cables on the inside of the shorter section are there for a couple of lights which I will be mounting on the wall, because that side of the garden is to be made into a seating area & brick BBQ for when we have people around

Any brickies or anyone at all got any comments? Although if they're bad, I dont want to know :) also... how much would a bricklayer have charged for all this doing?

Haha! It's the back of the house by the way not the front, which is why I've done it so high - for both security and also a bit more privacy being that the house is overlooked on both sides.

Looks good IMO. Of course I'm not a bricklayer, but I like it :) (more so now that I've read it's the back of the house and not the front) :)

I actually modelled it on the front, unfortunately on streetview there's a daft van parked outside so you can't see the front :)

Not at all, I'm actually looking forward to the next part because the next door neighbour has offered to pay for more than half even though she wont be able to see it because she has tall bush things in front of her side :) :)

How much would you have charged for that? In total the wall is 9m long excluding the gate, and approx 4.5ft high rising to just over 5ft at the other end, double skinned.
