Do it yourself, it could be done on the roadside with very few tools. Price seems a bit high, but any job at a garage in London will cost.

The Q was if £100 was too much for a garage to charge for replacing engine mounts

All you need is a jack, and a lot of patience!
I think it's worth getting the mounts with captive threads moulded in, although if they start spinning you've got a bit of a problem. It's made the job easier for me in the past.

oh right then as stated for a garage to do it then i guess thats just over an hours work so about right i wanted ball joints doing labour alone was £204+vat i soon learnt how to do them myself saved a fortune

driverside engine mount depends on the model of mini, but with a servo etc I would want at least £80 for doing that, earlier non servo car £45.
