hi

i have at the moment, at switch panel with 4 holes for switches
- hazard, heated window, lights, brake warning.

i dont like having the fog light switch down on the right and would like to put it in the centre facia. i know that 5 hole facias are readily available and i think that later cooper models have them (i think).

my question is... how hard are they to remove and replace? will i need to take out the hole choke and heater cables and then rethreadle them through again? will i have to remove the whole lower dash to get the brackets off?

i have read a load of posts and no one has ask this before - also its not in the haynes manual.

thanks a lot

Hi I have just done this yesterday.

Behind the switch panel on each side is a bracket and the retaining nut and washer for the choke cable and heater cable. Undo these and they will slide out easily, just undo them from theie engine mounting points and withdraw.

I have a picture of the bracket nut washer order ..

thanks a lot

i was really hoping that i would not have to touch the choke and heater cable - but nether mind, i suppose it will only add about 30-60 mins extra onto the job. i have to do it now anyway as i have just accidentally bought a panel off of ebay! lol

nice picture

thanks for quick response
