im going to go ahead and get a spring suspension conversion setup, so should i buy the red race or blue road springs. ive read that the blue is a little too soft even for road use so im leaning towards red as anything must be better than cones lol. these are the ones im looking at buying so if anyone has any info on how good they are then its appreciated.

Just a question - why are you going to coil springs? Presumably you are going to race it. For road use the rubber cones are and always will be the best all-round suspension.

well, no im not going to race it for the time being. i just wanted to fit these to improve on the ride quality, ive read reports on these spring conversions really helping with absorbing the bumps of crappy roads which i know all too well about as standard mini suspension really knocks hell out of you. im not just being a *baby cat* but anything that i can make better on my mini ill go ahead and do, i was going to fit hi-lo's anyway and i may as well just fit this full kit, never have to replace buggered cones again.

The minispares ones are £281 without the hilos? i have been told that the cheaper spring are not good but can't confirm or deny this. I myself have a set of the minispares red springs sitting on the shelf in my garage gathereing dust while i decide whether or not to fit to my mk1 project. I bought them off a guy on here who was breaking his mini and he reconned they were brilliant? but he was selling them lol.

well, i suppose i have the choice there of either going for the ones on ebay for just shy of £200, or the ones from mini-tastic for £246 plus whatever their p+p is. wonder if theres any difference in quality, most places sell stuff from the same manufacturer and brand it themselves ive found over the years.

I got my set from p and l minis and i must say the ride was noticably better and there was hardly any body roll increase (cant tell the difference while blasting down country lanes) ive also fitted some gaz shocks and it handles and drives brilliantly.

The kit is cheap at the moment (low price till 50 have sold) but the quality is ace

ive just changed to minitastic coils. i got the fast road set with the hi-lo's £225 + £10 p+p. the guy on the phone recommended there hi-lo's as some of the cheaper one's don't fit the spring. ive also got the standard height gaz adjustables and can honestley say that the ride is so much better.

I've got W&P adjusta-rides - do you think the P&L springs would fit them?

I got a set of the blue road springs. When i had fited them they were a little too soft. So now i have fitted the standard rubber cones onto the front and left the spings on the back, i found this combination works really well becuase the steering is still bery posative will little body roll yet having springs at the back tend to take away the harshness and back jolting bumpyness that you can somtimes get with the standard suspension. I hear it make more of an improvement on cars with 12 inch wheels.
