I bought myself a 1960 Austin Seven and want to paint it a gray colour. The car was originally Speedwell blue, but I really like the grays of the early cars. I need the PPG paint code or mixtures of either Smoke Gray or Tweed Gray. I plan on painting the car with a white roof and the body in gray with some rose petal wheels.

Yes, could you please check for me. I gave a few paint codes from the list on this forum, but my painter couldn't bring it up on his system. Of course he also didn't know that there was a Mini before 2002 :(

well as promised i put the code into our computer and as your painter said no ppg mix the only paint scheme our one had it for was deltron. The company that supplies our paint has done things for us before where they cross reference to a different scheme and get us a very close mix this may be a way to go

Well, however I need to go to get a close color would be what I need. Here in the US most painters only think of gray as being a primer color so it is difficult to explain it to them. One of my club members had to use a 1959 Austin poster that he found to get the color to match for his car. That is how I got the paint color mix for Speedwell blue. While that is a nice color and original to my car I'd like to do something different and go for either Smoke or Tweed gray. Since PPG is the most prevalent world wide I would like to find the close color mix to get at least the Smoke Gray.
