Right, i decided to assemble my Diff this evening, and upon tightening (not even at Torque setting) the diff has locked up! it is really stiff, and i cant seem to move it, saying that its not the best leverage.

All I have replaced is the Fibre washers, Roll Pin and put in an Uprated Diff Pin.

The other thing i have considered is that none of this has been lubricated with oil, as i intend to do that later.

As this has never happened before to me, i was wondering if anyone else has had some issues similar.

ohhh, so its pinching against the thing that holds planet gears in place, if they're just fibre washers wont the first 1/2 a mile wear them in to the right size?

Like said if its gone tight and not installed its the fibre washers causing this, unless there very worn use the old ones.
If its tight installed its because the diff side cover isnt shimmed correctly.

The fibre washers are too thick as above.
if the old set are usable put them in, IIRC mini spares or MRA minis sell the correct thickness ones now as the rover washers were too thick.

Are these the ones you bought - read the description for the known problem with the genuine ones.

What I meant was - did you get that exact part number, or the thicker ones with the very similar part number.

Are the originals worn out or are you just changing them cause its apart?
If theres no excess movement use the originals, otherwise measure the old ones and using a feeler gauge with them fitted work out what size you need allowing for some movement.

When i fitted new washers my diff was mega stiff i couldnt work it out so i took it all apart and realised that there was a really thin ring off the old washers that had worn into a perfect circle just enough to make it stiff, scraped this off and fitted the new washers (from minispares) all perfect.
