Hi
I am interested in buying a mini from a dealer over here, and the car is registered in Northern Ireland.
Is it a simple matter of goint to the DVLA office to get registration here? Does it really matter if i drive it here, while it is registerd in Northern ireland?
Thanks

The first thing to remeber is that Northern Ireland is still a part of the UK and the same as Scotland and Wales. You probably notice a lot of cars with NI regs on them as they still use the 3 letter prefix with a 4 digit number style.
So yes go ahead and buy it if the car is good. And if you like a little originality then keep the registration. Otherwise it should cost you about £80 quid to transfer it but I would price the reg to sale first as you may get anything from £200 upwards for a NI reg.
PM me the reg if you want and I could let you know what it may fetch.
Good luck
Martin.
