Sadly it's quite common for lorry drivers not to even notice.
SPEAKING OF WHICH! I just remembered, when my bf crashed his mini a couple of years ago... He went up the back of a car on a corner (completely ruining the front of the mini) and the back end of the mini swang out on to the wrong side of the road. A lorry coming the other way actually hit the back of the mini as it swung out, throwing it back onto the right side of the road and smashing the rear arch and light in the process, and didn't even stop!
Needless to say the Mini had to be scrapped, the shell was very bent

He grabbed the steering wheel so hard when he braced for the crash that he bent that in the impact too

Luckily he got away with only achy wrists
Suspension sounds a bit iffy, at least the plastic should be easy to fix. My 106 has a whopping great big dent in the driver side front wing, was already there when we bought it - puts people off getting too close!
