just crashed my 106 driving to town :proud:. a big lorry was overtaking a cyclist on a corner and was on my side of the road coming towards me. i had to swerve onto a bank to miss it whilst trying to control the car then swerved onto a bank onto the other side of the road. the lorry didn't even stop!. luckily i wasnt in the mini or the damage could have been alot worse. so just wondering. has anybody else had this kind of encounter with stupid drivers that dont even stop to see if your okay? no witnesses except a friend who was in the car in front and the guy didn't even stop to see the accident he caused. no point calming on the insurance as il have to pay the first £250 anyway... not happy :)

a slight knocking noise coming from the passenger side suspension when on bumpy roads now. body work is just plastic bumper, arches and side skirt. the body work i can do myself. and will be looking at the suspension to see if theres anything i can do if not its gonna have to be taken in to the garage to get it checked. im just angry the guy didnt stop. could have been alot worse than it was :proud:

Sadly it's quite common for lorry drivers not to even notice.

SPEAKING OF WHICH! I just remembered, when my bf crashed his mini a couple of years ago... He went up the back of a car on a corner (completely ruining the front of the mini) and the back end of the mini swang out on to the wrong side of the road. A lorry coming the other way actually hit the back of the mini as it swung out, throwing it back onto the right side of the road and smashing the rear arch and light in the process, and didn't even stop! ;)

Needless to say the Mini had to be scrapped, the shell was very bent :) He grabbed the steering wheel so hard when he braced for the crash that he bent that in the impact too ;) Luckily he got away with only achy wrists :proud:

Suspension sounds a bit iffy, at least the plastic should be easy to fix. My 106 has a whopping great big dent in the driver side front wing, was already there when we bought it - puts people off getting too close! :P

I had someone in an old knackered escort go into me in the mini, i had only been driving about a week or two! I was in the left hand lane to go straight on at a small roundabout, not quite a mini roundabout, but a small one. The guy in the escort was in the right hand lane indicating right, he was next to me, and i obviously thought he was going right, but i got half way around the roundabout, and he decided to go straight on and go into the left hand lane. But before he went into the left lane, he didnt check his mirrors or anything and went into me. At this point i thought he had wrecked the side of my little mini, but luckily it turned out to be a smashed wheel arch which was cheap to repair. The worst part about this story is that the guy told me he would give me some money, he just needed to go into the petrol station about 100 metres down the road. So i followed him in, and as he was filling up i went round the corner to ring my dad and tell him what happened, as i came back around the corner, i discovered that the bloke had done a runner. Now i know this was stupid, but i didnt even take his plate, i was so shook up and i had only been driving about a week or two, but i'll know in future .

Glad you and mate are OK..Thats the main thing.
I think over the years most of us have had some fool drive into us.I have been in a few bad ones.
Insurance CHAT is a top Topic for all ages and Bumps. We all need people to chat to after one.
Take the car to any Exhaust centre they will pop it up on ramp and check it out hoping for the work for free tell them your exhaust might be blowing to.I do that even when buying cars to have a good look under the car.I do buy things of them when i need something so they do not mind.
