I will have to describe it....

Where the gear stick goes into the gear gates I want this to be seen... perhaps raised... in stainless steel so u can see the gear stick going into those gears....


What do i need?

I know what you mean, the names on the tip of my tongue!

It's been discussed before and the general consensus is that there's too much play in a mini gear stick for it to really work.

Shift gate, thats it!

If you are talking about Ferrari style ones, apparently some mini's did have them or they were a very rare after market part, it was mentioned in mini world recently.

do you mean a kad gear linkage kit which moves the gear housing inside the cabin and not under it?

i think etizzles was the best example although ive seen a much nicer more rustic looking on topgear but i cant remember the car grr

Anyone up for a trial of this? Sure alot of people would be interested huh?

i made one out of wood for my mini :shifty:

it never worked though every time it shifted gear it catch down the sides even after i made sure it had 5 mm gap down both sides

if your gonna do it raise it up a bit more and make it fit into your center console

Hegnirst, how are you getting on with this? My son wanted me to make one, but I put him off! Told him it's too difficult.

Have you got any pics of your progress, because if he sees this thread he'll be nagging me again!
