I repainted the mini, and gave it a mk1 grille and badge, and the plan was to sort of turn it, (I mean, him), into an italian job looking mini (it's tartan red, so the red one). However, I quite like the racing look, and having looked at more and more pictures of the sort of racey, retro, stripped down look. I.e. white wall steelys, debumpered, bonnet strap and spotlights, etc. I find I'm wanting to go down this route now, which is less costly, and more unique.
So, if I go the italian job route (which isn't unique at all), I'll have to buy overiders, three bar spotlights, mk 1 backlights, mk 1 hinges, posso some mk1 windows, and that's not only expensive but also alot of work.
If I go for the retro racer sort of look, all I'll have to do is take the bumpers off, take the moustache off, and buy some secondhand spotlights, paint the roof and the wheels, and jobs a good'un.
So, what do you guys reckon?
