Reverse Steel Wheels

Hi, I saw this in that free mini mag inspiration guide, and after having a quick 10 minute scan on the internet about this, I've understood it as litterally, taking the factory steely wheels off, turning them around, and putting them back on. I have a few questions, and concerns though.

1. Is it road legal, and safe within reason. I've read that it can incorrect the camber? and I assume I would have to swap the NS and OS wheels over to ensure the tred runs the right way??
2. Do the steelys on a mini have countersunk holes? (I don't think mine do, as my wheels nuts have a bevelled edge but wanted to ask to make sure, as can't check my wheels atm).
3. I havn't seen anybody with them this way, or certainly havn't noticed if they have, so is it noticable but uncommon? or vague, and pointless? (if nobody's doing it, there must be a reason why).
4. Have I misunderstood this by thinking it means a simple, and cheap way I can give my wheels a new look, when really, I've got the wrong end of the stick, and need to buy different wheels?

I think you on about Reverse Bead Steel Wheels, the old mini's used to have them (1959 - 1971ish) i think im going with what i was told.

basicly its wear the wheel has to be put face down on the tyre machine and changed that way.

buy knocking the center out of a mini wheel then moving it back more is stupid idea you don't wana be messing with road wheels.

A proper mini reverse rim has the centre reversed. So it's mounted in the same spot but turned around so it faces the other way. This shows the 'reverse' of the rim on the outside and makes the rim stick out a little bit more.

Do not just turn your rims around! There is a bevel the wheel nuts sit in and the lumps for mounting the hub cap which will foul on the flat edge of your drive flange and may cause your wheels to run 'out of square'. You may also not have enough thread engagement left as the wheel will no longer sit against the drive flange.

If you're running tubeless tyres you will also need to plug the old hole for the tyre valve.

And reverse rims, if modified by a competent engineer, would be perfectly safe for road or even track use.
