HI,

I'm wanting to attach the below to the boot of my mini. Photo courtesy of minispares.

I'm expecting that this badge probably has some pins on the back of it, which ideally would then allow it to be placed inside the relevant holes on a boot lid.....I don't have those and am wanting to stick it on there instead. Based on previous experience with other badges, i've had to file down the pin's to make it smooth and then i've basically gone to Halfords and purchased some double side pads and used that to attach the thing.

Is there a better way to do this...am i missing some magic sauce/trick that could be used to attach a badge?

i would just drill the holes and slot the pegs in as this is what i will be doing for my new badge when it arrives, but if you dont want to do this try some strong spray on glue, this way you wont get the adhesive pads sticking over the letters as theres not alot to glue it to in your case.

I've had many sleepless nights thinking about this too since I got a badge. I really don't want to go drilling more holes 'because I'm fighting rust as it is so I thought about buying a sheet of double sided stickiness, (or I think I've seen it on rolls somewhere), pressing it in to that then using a scalpal to cut round it. Absolute fiddly job but worth it in the end.
I'm gonna have a go soon so i'll let you know.

that's what i did before...actually the wife did it. It worked fine, but like you...it's fiddly. I was just wondering whether there was a better way than that (without drilling holes).

you could get roofless to make you a chrome "cooper" scroll out of vinyl and then get him to dome resin it? that way it would look very similar and stick straight on Schimples
