Hi i am restoring a set of cosmic rims but one of the steel inserts is missing from a rim, that allows you to use dome wheel nuts. Does anyone know where you can buy them from? Thanks

Im aalso going to be doing this to my set of cosmics, and also need a couple of inserts.
Found this US website that sells various differet types of insert. Ive not researched which type is required as of yet though, as my refurbishment is not to desperate at the minute.

Wheel inserts

If you end up ordering some, would it be possible to give me a shout? We could combine the order to save on shipping? Im avalible on PM or my username @ ohtmail.com.

hi thanks for the reply I have had a look at the web site, I think that the ones in the top left might be the right ones but im not sure its difficult to measure the inserts in the rim. I might try pushing one out, so that I can check the dimensions. If I could measure the ball seat accurately (not sure how?) could get them made locally. I was hoping that someone might know of some where in the UK that sells them.

why not get some plasticine or similar and force it into the set. (possibly put a little WD40 or similar in there first so you can get it out easily)

then take it out and measure it. then you will have the measurements without potentially damaging a wheel

I'd take the wheel to a machine shop and ask them to measure/replicate and then fit the inserts for me.

Take a nut with you as well.
