Yep, kit car. At least it should be if the V5 doesn't claim it's a Rover Mini with a Rover VIN/chassis number. If it's on a Q it would be hard for the DVLA to say what was modified.

Hi
If its been issued with a plate Q or otherwise it must have been through an
SVA (now IVA).
I have the basic info on IVA requirements that I could email you If needed

I thought you could get a Q without necessarily needing a SVA, but agree it's unlikely with a Minus.

can you not get on old tax exempt mini and reshell it using the minus shell?
Using the log book from the origional car? Read somewhere that you need to use two major components from the original.
Such as engine subframe etc

May be wrong but would give you a tax exempt car

I don't really understand what you've bought.

Do you actually have a 'Q' registrtation?

Look carefully on the shell, a Minius shell should have a chassis number 'stamped' in it.

Right, so you have a logbook with a Q registration and it says Mini Minus on it?

If so the shell and the V5 should have chassis numbers that match.

If they do you are quids in, no need for an IVA, just an MOT and away you go. Stick as many holes in it as you want. If turboing though I'd advise using the Mirage setup or a bespoke manifild to get the turbo in without the need for a box in the bulkhead. I did the latter on my kit car.
